I thought it was interesting that you decided to keep the original hole shape and position that you have in your first proof-of-concept. Have you experimented with other types of holes? Thinking about affordances, something that comes to mind is having two eye-shaped holes (or one, if it looks better when viewed with one eye only). I also wonder where the power is coming from. Will the user be able to pick up the box, or is it fixed to the table (and/or constrained by electrical wires)? I like how it's a good size to be handled by the user, but when you look inside, it looks so much bigger.
